Tennessee Women’s Cycling Project would like to thank our bike shop sponsor MOAB for their support this year. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we have not been able to represent MOAB and our others sponsors at races and events this year. But that doesn’t mean we are not riding! Many of us have popped into the shop in the last few months to grab gear and get tune-ups so that we can enjoy riding on our neighborhood streets, mountain bike trails, and our trainers.
MOAB has been in business since 1995. Mark Dement opened a shop in an upstairs space close to MTSU in Murfreesboro and has grown his business over the years. There are now three MOAB locations in Middle Tennessee: Murfreesboro, Franklin, and East Nashville.
Whatever your skill level, budget, or riding style, Mark and his staff are always able to answer your questions and help you find the right bike and/or accessories. Their mechanics can fix a flat or help you figure out what that annoying noise is on your bike or just do a safety check if your bike has been sitting in the garage for a while. If you need a bike fit, several of the staff are certified to help you with that. Their expertise and love for cycling shows in everything they do, and they’ve worked hard to create welcoming shops. They don’t talk down to beginner riders–or women customers. That’s incredibly important to our team!
In addition to our team, MOAB supports several other cycling clubs, racing teams, and tri-teams in the area. They have also supported many charity rides and races over the years, including the Gravel Revival event to support Ride for Reading.
Hopefully, we’ll be able to ride together soon. In the meantime, go check out the new bikes at MOAB, do some upgrades to the bike you already have, or go buy some new gloves or shorts to motivate you to get out and ride! Keep in mind: bike shops around the country have been swamped lately, so please be patient. Your repairs and orders may take a little longer than usual.
